In last week class we whole class play an activity, where we all students get into our groups. Our whole class is divided into four groups which are, Backsquad, The sabages, Reese’s and Group Diego. My group name is Reese’s and it include three other students. The main theme and title of this activity is “We live together and we die together” and the purpose is to inform. The rhetorical mode is description and rhetorical purpose is of reflective writing. In that activity all groups are assigned with same task where we have to organise the all paper slips based on where do they belong. Those slips are from Chapter 24, Against Vanity: In the Praise of Revision under The Art of Memoir and written by Mary Karr in 2015.This chapter is of 4 and half pages .She put pressure on the importance art of reading, writing and revising. She talked about how writing is perceived difficult by students. She stated that she read many biographies and historical books. She learnt a lot about writing from history books such as the style of written content of that time. In that chapter, she explained the writing process of students and how it improves by practicing each year. Rewriting and revision plays an important role in it. She focuses on the quality of writing over quantity of writing. Emotions put a great impact on a reader and makes a quality of work. She mentioned memoir about G.H. Hardy’s A Mathematician’s Apology. This activity is also like activity number 1, where we live and die together. It was fun and very helpful. It check our knowledge level of writing process that how we can relates several broken paragraphs and put them together. The transitions between each paragraphs helped us to find another paragraph who were separated apart and on different sheet of a paper.This was very unique way of writing process, where eyes and mind of readers were tested. So that he or she able to correlated the separated pieces together. All groups did well and organized them in assigned time limit. In addition who completed this task early, helped other groups as well. It’s not about competition but its about teamwork of the students. At end all groups performed this correctly by following all of the instructions.
By completing activity 2 successfully, we all class qualified for to play next level.
