Activity-3 In last week class we whole class played an activity, where we all students get into our groups. Our whole class is divided into four groups which are, Backsquad, The sabages, Reese’s and Group Diego. My group name is Reese’s and it include three other students. The main theme and title of this activity is “We live together and we die together” and the purpose is to inform. The rhetorical mode is description and rhetorical purpose is reflective writing. When I entered in class in morning, I saw a change. I was thinking why some of the chairs are in front. It was a last day of activity no. 3 and we all class were excited about that. In that activity each group have to sit on those front chairs facing classroom. And my professor projected some words related to writing process on the board and where we had to guess those words. To the best of my knowledge, I think so we had only two and half minutes to guess all words. The remaining students of the class were helping the students who were sitting on those front chairs. They gave some clues or some phrases or some definition, so that the front students can guess it. This activity was not about one group, but the whole class were helping and showing their keen interest. After a group performed it, then its other group’s turn. All four groups performed it well within time limit. Once the participating group, did guess all words on the board, with the help of audience groups which were remaining groups then the task was progressing towards the end. In the end all groups performed well and we won the task. Then we have option to write blog on all the activities that we did in class. Even though they are not required but still I blogged about that to increase my scores. And that is my last blog, after that my class will be done. This was my last class and I really enjoyed it since I entered in this college. However I took other classes of English but I have good experience with this one only. I learnt a lot in this course. I always struggle in writing but by taking this class I really saw improvement in myself. Overall, I learnt a lot in this class about the literature and writing process.

In that activity all groups are assigned with same task where we have to organise the all paper slips based on where do they belong. Those slips are from Chapter 24, Against Vanity: In the Praise of Revision under The Art of Memoir and written by Mary Karr in 2015.This chapter is of 4 and half pages .She put pressure on the importance art of reading, writing and revising. She talked about how writing is perceived difficult by students. She stated that she read many biographies and historical books. She learnt a lot about writing from history books such as the style of written content of that time. In that chapter, she explained the writing process of students and how it improves by practicing each year. Rewriting and revision plays an important role in it. She focuses on the quality of writing over quantity of writing. Emotions put a great impact on a reader and makes a quality of work. She mentioned memoir about G.H. Hardy’s A Mathematician’s Apology. This activity is also like activity number 1, where we live and die together. It was fun and very helpful. It check our knowledge level of writing process that how we can relates several broken paragraphs and put them together. The transitions between each paragraphs helped us to find another paragraph who were separated apart and on different sheet of a paper.This was very unique way of writing process, where eyes and mind of readers were tested. So that he or she able to correlated the separated pieces together. All groups did well and organized them in assigned time limit. In addition who completed this task early, helped other groups as well. It’s not about competition but its about teamwork of the students. At end all groups performed this correctly by following all of the instructions.

Group Activity- 1 In last week class we whole class play an activity, where we all students get into our groups. Our whole class is divided into four groups which are, Backsquad, The sabages, Reese’s and Group Diego. My group name is Reese’s and it include three other students. The main theme of this activity is “We live together and we die together”and the purpose is to inform. The rhetorical mode is description and rhetorical purpose is of reflective writing. In that activity all groups are assigned with same task where we have to organise the all paper slips based on which category do they belong. The list of slips we got were Genre/Sub genres(3), Rhetorical Modes(4), Motives(7) and Rhetorical Purposes (3). They all were in bold print while other ones are in normal print. This activity was fun and as well as way of revising, what we learnt so far in class. There was a time limit of couple of minutes to finish each task. After we organizing the slips appropriately, then we have to tell our professor and then we have to help other groups of class. It was teamwork and all individual in the group put their efforts to win this activity. If any all groups pass this task at time limit then we all move to perform other activity. This was amazing, where no competition just an zeal to help each other and to won together. If any of the group unable to complete this task and then other groups failed this task as well. It was like our whole class will live and die together. These kind of activities reflects the unity and teamwork of all students irrespective of any bias. Even though sports teach us such skills outside of a classroom but these activities teaches us inside of classroom and tells us how each small effort, makes a big difference. All groups performed well and qualified to perform an activity no. 2. |
